Crane Inspections
All Test &
Inspection provides on-site inspections of cranes, overhead cranes, and
related equipment. Our company and surveyors are certified to conduct
Maritime Crane inspections per OSHA 29 CFR Part 1919 based on their
technical training and "hands on" experience.
Cranes in service on waterways must be
inspected annually per OSHA 29 CFR Part 1919 by an accredited agency.
Annual Construction Crane (OSHA 1926.550) and Overhead Crane (OSHA
1910.179) can be conducted by any individual deemed competent to perform
the inspection. This individual could be an employee of the company owning
the equipment or an independent third-party. In most cases, equipment
owners and operators receive the most comprehensive and objective
inspection from an independent third party service -- All Test and
Inspection.
Our inspections consist of three parts:
- Visual
- Magnetic Particle
- Functional
In addition, OSHA recommends load tests for
construction and overhead cranes, and requires them for maritime cranes,
every four years. The load test consists of the crane picking a 110%
capacity load determined by the machine’s rating chart and the boom
configuration at the time of test.
Overhead cranes are tested by picking a load
ranging from 100%-125% of the rated
load. |
